Top 5 Things to Do in Baltimore

After living in Baltimore for six years, here is a list that I compiled of what you cannot miss in Baltimore.

1) Baltimore Water Taxi

Be ready to be blown away by the experience of the Baltimore Water Taxi. I recommend that you stay on the boat for more than just your stop so you can truly see the beauty of Baltimore. Click here for my blog post highlighting more in-depth about this ride. It rides during the spring and summer, and then weather permitting after October 1st.

2) Fell's Point

When you step into Fell's Point, it brings you back to the days of Prohibition. There’s even a sign that is still on one of the buildings (I dare you to look for it!). This town has lots of shops and restaurants and has a beautiful walkway along the water.

3) Federal Hill Park

Federal Hill offers one of the most majestic views of the city. As you leave the Hill, walk around the charming historic streets of row homes. One street that I love is Montgomery Street.

4) Fort McHenry

This National Monument and Historic Shrine is a scenic spot to enjoy for picnics or a nice walk. Along the water, there is a 1-mile path around the Fort and a large field area. The museum is very well-done. The gates are open 9AM-5PM. Afterwards, head to the Under Armour Promenade for sunset. There is a FREE parking lot inside the gates of the park.

5) The Walters Art Museum in Mount Vernon

This museum is located very close to the Baltimore Basilica, Peabody Library, and the Washington Monument. It opened its doors in 1934 and is free, thanks to donors and city grants. The museum is connected to The Hackerman House, which is a mansion in Mt. Vernon. When you walk in this section, there is a beautiful stained-glass dome at the very top of a spiral staircase. The Sculpture Court in the museum is breath-taking; a lot of weddings are held here.

Notable Mention: Camden Yards

Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened for its first season in 1992. The structure of the stadium emulates nostalgia, along with America's favorite past-time: baseball.
